As usual, we started this week discussing the news, where conversation around the War in Ukraine dominated.
Donald Trump's recent meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky was raised and the impact this might have on the war in Ukraine. We also discussed Zelensky's meeting with Prime Minister Starmer and also the King and why this is unusual.
We then looked at the question - does technology make us more or less intelligent? This led into an interesting discussion on genetic modification and the ethics that surround it.
The two main debates of the day were arguing if it should be a requirement for teachers to have teaching qualifications and also whether cartoons were good for learning. Our skill of the week targeted rebuttal and two teams did this especially well, leading to an unprecedented four Prime Ministers of the Week. Very well done!
Over the term the group have shown tremendous improvement in their debating skills and we very much look forward to next term.
